At our next Monday Club luncheon we are honored to have as our guest speaker former New South Wales Premier the Hon. Bob Carr who will discuss his perspectives on the current and future relationships between Australia and China, and how this will be shaped by the free trade agreement.
Bob Carr has an honors degree in History from the University of New South Wales. He was a broadcast journalist with the ABC and a Senior political writer for The Bulletin in 1978.
He was elected to the NSW Parliament in 1983, becoming Minister for Planning and the Environment.
He served as leader of the Australian Labor Party for seven years until 1995 when he became Premier of NSW. In 2012 he became the Australian Minister for Foreign Affairs.
With his current role as Director of the Australia –China relations Institute, Bob Carr will discuss the current research priorities of this think tank dedicated to Australia-China relations.
