HCA arranges events to promote fellowship among alumni of Harvard University in Australia and helps Australians to further their education, either by attending Harvard or by learning from Harvard professors in Australia.

HCA has chapters in NSW, the ACT, Queensland, South Australia and Western Australia. The Harvard Club of Victoria exists for Victorian alumni.

HCA Philanthropy manages the educational and scholarship programs of HCA. The educational programs in Australia include an annual Leadership Program and an annual Nonprofit Leaders Workshop taught by Harvard Business School professors.

HCA Philanthropy also manages and supports a range of scholarships to support study at Harvard and academic exchange with Harvard including the Australia-Harvard Fellowships, the Menzies Scholarship, the Sir James Wolfensohn Public Service Scholarship, the Roberta Sykes Scholarship and a scholarship for school principals.
